San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is working his way back form a quadriceps injury and hopes to take the floor this season. Leonard spoke with the media on Wednesday and says he's close to a return, but isn't sure when. The two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year has been limited to just nine games this season because of the injury. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said last month that Leonard was unlikely to play this year, but the organization has changed its stance in recent weeks. Leonard also denied there is a rift between him, Popovich, and the front office and added that all decisions have been made as a team.
Entering Wednesday, the Spurs were 37-and-27, good for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
