Robert Mueller Submits Russia Report To Attorney General William Barr

Mueller Testifies At Senate FBI Oversight Hearing

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has wrapped up his nearly two-year long investigation into potential collusion between President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential election campaign and the Russian government. Mueller submitted his report to Attorney General William Barr on Friday (March 22) afternoon.

Barr will now be tasked with summarizing the findings of Mueller's investigation and preparing a report for Congress. He has the power to decide if the confidential report should be released in part or in full. Members of Congress and President Trump have said they support releasing the report to the public.

During his confirmation hearing, Barr said he would consider releasing some of the findings to the public but did not state whether he would be willing to release the entire report to the public.

Barr sent a one-page letter to Congressional leaders and suggested he may be able to brief them on the report's "principal conclusions" this weekend.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that "the White House has not received or been briefed on the Special Counsel’s report."
