“Joker” topped the box office again with its second record-breaking weekend. Todd Phillips’ super villain movie starring Joaquin Phoenix made a solid $55-million for its second weekend in theaters for a total of $197-million domestically and a half-billion worldwide, becoming the actor’s highest-grossing movie of all-time.

“The Addams Family” and “Gemini Man” both debuted this weekend, and one did better than the other. “The Addams Family” is on track to become United Artists’ highest-grossing film yet. The animated movie made just over $30-million to take the second spot, coming behind Adam Sandler’s “Hotel Transylvania” movies.

Angelina Jolie reprises her role as Maleficent : Mistress of Evil. A formidable queen causes a rift between Maleficent and Princess Aurora. Also starring Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfieffer

The Zombie slayers are BACK!! Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jessie Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, Luke Wilson and more in Zombieland: Double Tap. A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast reunites to face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

And how about this, Aliens is celebrating it's 40th anniversary!! Fathom Events, TCM and Twentieth Century Fox present Alien in a special 40th anniversary event coming to select cinemas featuring exclusive insight from Turner Classic Movies. Directed by Ridley Scott, the original sci-fi classic follows Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) investigating a suspected SOS on a remote planet and makes a terrifying discovery. Fathom Events, TCM and Twentieth Century Fox present Alien in a special 40th anniversary event coming to select cinemas featuring exclusive insight from Turner Classic Movies. Here a 3 events I'd like to highlight:

The 11th Annual Keane Foundation Cove Side Carnival! Rides, food, games and more, right in the heart of Old Wethersfield at The Cove Park, next to the DMV. A portion of the proceeds will go to support the Wethersfield Food Bank! Lots of fun for all ages! A special Oktoberfest Beer Garden for adults, live entertainment, free parking and admission!!! Opens Friday 5pm to 10pm , Saturday 12pm to 10pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm.

Music fans classic rockers Toto performs their 40 Trips Around The Sun Tour at Foxwoods Resort Casino (at the Grand Theatre) on Friday, October 18th at 8pm. Toto has Connecticut ties with the Porcaro family. The Porcaros have been key to the band’s success, which began with Toto’s debut hit “Hold the Line” and continued with other hits such as “Rosanna” and “Africa.” Steve Porcaro still tours with the band his brothers Mike and Jeff have passed, they were all born in Hartford and resided in South Windsor! Their father, Joe, 89, is an American jazz drummer and has recorded with Natalie Cole,Don Ellis,Stan Getz,Freddie Hubbard,Gladys Knight,Madonna,The Monkees,Gerry Mulligan,Pink Floyd,Howard Roberts,Frank Sinatra,Nancy Sinatra, andSarah Vaughan. He has done film scores withJames Newton Howard,John Williams,Jerry Goldsmith,James Horner,Danny Elfman,John Frizzelland his sonSteve Porcaro. With educator and drummer Ralph Humphrey, he was one of the founders of theLos Angeles Music Academy(LAMA) in Pasadena, California, which is now called the Los Angeles College of Music(LACM).

This weekend it's the Connecticut Pet Expo at the XL Center! Saturday & Sunday starting at 10am both days.The Connecticut Pet Expo is designed to educate and entertain the public about the wonderful world of pets. Featuring pet vendors, educational and entertaining performances, special attractions, hands-on-petting opportunities, pet adoptions, and outstanding shopping for pet lovers and their pets. Attendees are allowed to bring well behaved pets to the expo. Highlights include:
