CCSU plays 1st ever playoff game without QB

This season for the CCSU Blue Devil football team was a season of firsts. It was the first time the team had won 8 straight games in a single season, EVER. It was the first time it went undefeated in conference play, EVER. It lead to an NEC Championship, the first since 2010. It also led to it’s first FCS Championship playoff berth, EVER.

Unfortunately, when the Blue Devils play the University of New Hampshire tomorrow afternoon for the first time in the post season, it will be without its starting QB Jacob Dolegala.

Dolegala and lineman Dave Cinti were among 4 that were given summonses for a breach of peace violation for an off campus party that required the presence of Campus Police. The summons which requires a court appearance, was the trigger that prompted Head Football coach Pete Rossomando to announce Dolegala’s and Cinti’s suspension for initially “violating team rules”.

The Blue Devils will start sophomore Tanner Kingsley when they travel to New Hampshire to play the Wildcats at Wildcat Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.
