St. Joseph Beats Ledyard, Will Face Masuk in L Final

Wednesday's Broadcast - Girls Softball - CIAC State Tournament Class L Semifinal - St. Joseph vs. Ledyard. A very entertaining game with a little bit of everything in it.

The Cadets of St. Joseph advanced to the Class L Championship by downing the Colonels 11-5 in a game that was delayed 40 minutes because of lightning and thunder.

Ledyard scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning on just 2 hits, but got help on a St. Joseph error.

The Cadets answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd thanks to an rbi double from Maddie Fitzgerald and a single by Lauren Wasikowski.

The game was tied 5-5 after 4 innings, but from then on, it was all St. Joseph. The Cadets scored 3 runs in the 5th and 3 runs in the 6th for the 11-5 win.

St. Joseph will meet #1 seed Masuk for the Class L Championship.

For St. Joseph, Maddy Fitzgerald had 2 hits, scored 2 runs, and had an rbi, Brittany Mairano had 2 hits and 3 rbis, Riley McDermott had a single and 2 rbis and Coco Bartone had 2 hits and 2 rbis.
