I ventured out to Woodbridge on Thursday to take in Girls Softball - North Haven at Amity. This was in fact a very well played and entertaining game.
Amity defeated North Haven 3-1. Grace Whitman was the winning pitcher allowing just 5 hits. Carly Marchitto had an rbi single, but it was Elizabeth Brownfield's double that drove in the game winning rbis. The game was highlighted by great defense by both teams, especially Amity shortstop, Nicole Koshes. Koshes made a fantastic play in the 5th inning, going into the hole between 2nd and 3rd, and forcing the runner at 3rd to end the inning. Had it gone through, it would have been an rbi single and North Haven still batting.
Hayley Garthwaite had an rbi single for North Haven. Eryn Sheeley scored the lone North Haven run.
